– RCPD YO! ACADEMY: The Rapid City Police Department Youth Outreach Academy is a 6-week program for youth ages 16-18. The course covers topics ranging from Police Procedures and Investigations to Forensic Policing and Emergency Response. Students will have an opportunity to drive a patrol car through a challenge course, ride along with a patrol officer on shift, participate in a firearm course, and meet the K-9 Unit, among other activities. (Additional Capstone Credit can Apply Even if You’re Not in Capstone Currently.)
– Calling all performers! There are so many talented students here at RCAA and Lifeways is looking for those of you who would like to show off those talents on stage for the 11th annual Lifeways AMP event on March 29th at the Dahl Arts Center! Performances can be singing, dancing, gymnastics, cheerleading, rapping, being a DJ, reading poetry, playing an instrument… The list is endless! If this sounds like something you would like to do, please stop by the Lifeways office here at RCAA in room 421 for more information and to grab an application! Remember, taking a positive risk like this can be scary but is healthy :)
