District Opener – Building Closure Notice
On Monday, August 18, all Rapid City Area Schools buildings will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 10:30 a.m. for our annual District Opener event. This is a special tradition where all RCAS staff gather to celebrate the start of the new school year and align for success. We appreciate your understanding as we take this time to connect, inspire, and ring in the new year together.

Join us on August 11th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for laptop check out and student ID day. Parents must have completed the returning student registration before their student will receive their school issued laptop. If you have any questions or just need help please call 394-4048 or stop by 601 Columbus St.
Please make sure as the guardian of your student that you have completed the returning student registration for the 2025 -2026 school year this must be done before students will be given their laptops. This is the only day that we will be taking student photos. If you have any questions please the RCAA main office at 394-4048.

Please come and visit with your students teachers to find out all the wonderful things that happen at RCAA. This will be the last conference for this school year. Rapid City Area Schools will be on Spring Break from April 14–21. There will be no school during that week as students and staff take a well-deserved break!

Scarecrow making at Valley View Elementary! Ms. Macziewski's Jr. Kindergarten class teamed up with a fourth-grade class to assemble some great fall scarecrows. The older students helped the younger ones with the project, and everyone worked together to get it done. 🍂
